February flies by! It is a shorter month definitely, but swoosh, it zips by. The new art show at Stonebridge Shopping Center's Open Space Arts gallery (15000 #140 Potomac Town Center, Woodbridge, Virginia) is about to start on Wednesday, March 1 and be open until March 26.

What Will March at OSA Look Like?

All new month, all new art! Congratulations to the following 29 artists that have been juried in for the March "Page-Turning Images Found in Women's Literature" at Open Space Arts Gallery. This show will open on March 1, 2023 with an opening reception for all artists, their family and friends -and the public- on Friday, March 3 at 6:30pm.

The gallery is open Wednesday - Saturday 12-7pm and Sundays 12-5pm.

A Weekend at Open Space Arts

It is almost like with the cooling off of the temperatures, the oranges, yellows and reds brightening up the trees, that crispness now in our days, that an excitement is in the air...the holidays are coming. Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Artist's Sunday, Christmas and a New Year's are all on the radar and edging closer. At Open Space Arts, the gallery at Stonebridge, more and more things are happening and this past weekend there were a LOT of things to see.

Artists Painting Live, Art Receptions and a Few Songs

Open Space Arts (OSA) is at 15000 #140 Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge, VA has art going on - all kinds of art in almost all its various ways. These are a few things that happened - just this past weekend!

Friday, October 21, 2022 Art Show Opening

Painting live - artists are often found painting inside or outside the gallery. Some while they volunteer at the gallery, some as part of a workshop...

Friday was also the opening of "Voices From Around the World - the Subtle Impacts of India" with the artist Anu Narasimhan. The reception was at 7pm and included these terrific dancers along with the art around the gallery.

 

This art show will run from October 19 -  October 30.

Saturday, October 22, 2022 

The Excelsior Voices Youth Choir stopped in for a public concert at 3:00 Saturday afternoon at OSA...and they were excellent! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. And note that the acoustics in the gallery was off the charts for singing!

 

 

Sunday, October 23, 2022

And then John Hartt (aka Jortt) arrived at OSA on Sunday and worked on a painting. John is a Prince William Art Society member and also belongs to other area art groups.

This makes me wonder, what will next weekend bring!

...oh, it will be Halloween (we have candy btw) and the "Voices" art show will end on Sunday, Oct 30. The next show will be "Harvest of Artists" and will feature Prince William County artists. Come by any time - say hello to the artists on duty and see some great art. Never know what else might be going on!

By the way, PWAS members are getting creative with Christmas ornaments destined for our Christmas tree for November 23. If you are a PWAS member, watch for more info on that coming soon.

The current art show at Open Space Arts is called "Voices From Around the World - the Subtle Impacts of India" with Anu Narasimhan which runs between October 20-30, 2022.The Opening Ceremony is Friday, October 21 at 7pm so be sure and come by to see the exhibit.

Stonebridge Petoberfest October 15, 2022

Move over Westminster Dog Show, Petoberfest at Stonebridge can give you some canine competition. Throw in a few cats in containers (and leashed) and a bunny, the critters in costumers were everywhere. I believe every dog breed known to man was out there - big ones, REALLY big ones, wide ones, and teenie tiny ones. I saw dinosaurs too.

Prince William Art Society (PWAS) Popup Art Show

It was an absolutely gorgeous day to grab the puppies and kids and get out to Stonebridge. Or if you wanted to adopt a puppy, there were lots of wagging tails waiting for homes too.

PWAS had a couple of tents setup outside the Open Space Art gallery featuring all creatures great and small. We have lots of artists that LOVE to take commissions on pet portraits, so samples of their work were on display to show their styles. Here are some shots of Day of the Dogs. And a few people went home with animal artwork for their walls too.

Saturday, OCT 15, 2022 PEToberfest

Grab your leashes and your pet carriers. Have your favorite furriest friends lead the way to Stonebridge on Saturday, October 15 between 11am and 4pm. The streets are alive with meows and cuddly wet noses for the PEToberfest celebration. Vendors  and artists will be celebrating our favorite animals - puppies, kittens, birds, fish and more in every way!...Maybe something for Fido and Fluffy AND for you!

Prince William Art Society Popup Art Show

The Prince William Art Society (PWAS) will be displaying art featuring all animals great and small with artwork outside the Open Space Arts Gallery at 15000 #140 Potomac Town Center, Woodbridge, VA in a popup art show (tented).

AND inside the gallery the art show is "Hispanic Heritage Art Celebration" which began on September 21 and will run until October 16, 2022, so plan on seeing both.

 

Ever wanted a painting of your favorite furry buddy? We have artists that specialize in pet paintings! Just ask!
