Post 522: Artist Inventory Sale at the ARTfactory Sat Dec 14, 2024

Artist Inventory Sale at the ARTfactory Sat, Dec 14, 2024

Saturday, December 14, 2024. The Prince William Art Society (PWAS) took part in the Artist Inventory Sale which was held this year inside the ARTfactory at 9419 Battle Street, Manassas, Virginia. It was a wonderful event with a wide variety of artists and art styles.

Shop for Local Art

There was a lot going on in Manassas that day both inside and outside of the ARTfactory! The Manassas train station parking lot was filled with many vendors selling their wares and munchies. There was the Christmas train so that kids could meet Santa Claus and review their Christmas lists. There was the inevitable road blocks. And inside the ARTfactory gallery - many local art groups and artists also selling their original artworks - where it was WARM inside!

There were 10 PWAS Members set up and sharing space showing quite the variety of art that visitors enjoyed viewing and purchasing.

The PWAS members participating at our PWAS table were:

Staci Blanchard
Kelly Haneklau
Mark Murphy
Richard Tyler
Nicole Fisher
Ana Quispe
Carol Noboa
Seth Hatfield
Nicole Goble
Donna Liguria

Click on the image to enlarge your view. Just the diversity with these 10 artists is amazing to see in their styles and mediums - anything from acrylics, watercolors, photography, oils and mixed media. There was tiny art to much larger works, books, prints, original art, jewelry, mixed media, and of course, Christmas ornaments.

Here are a few pictures that Staci Blanchard took:

It is always a learning experience in so many ways when having an art group show, especially when a room is filled with multiple art groups and artists. Not only do you get time to catch up with your fellow art group member friends but you can spend some time visiting with the other artists from around the county too. We get to greet friends and sometimes meet for the first time and get to know and be inspired by their art as well. We ask each other questions about what they create, like "how did you do that?" or "what did you use to achieve that?", getting great tips that may help in what we do.

As can often happen, many of the artists are members of multiple art groups. Some of the PWAS members were spread out across the room too.

It was nice to see the Manassas Art Guild (MAG) group and see Laura Lavarnway's annual Santa paintings as well as all of the other MAG members and their beautiful art.

The P-Art-Ners Art Group with Michele Frantz, Patty Gulledge, Mike Flynn (who manages the biannual Artist Inventory Sale [thankyou Mike!]), and Maria Briganti were there with their wonderful works too.

Christine Reilly from the Creative Brush studio had a table with her incredible creations, as well as other local and very talented art creators.

Inspiration and fellowship with other creative souls is a beautiful thing and was much appreciated. A BIG thank you to the ARTfactory, Jordan Exum and to Mike Flynn for hosting this event and we hope that this can happen again in 2025!
