Post 524: Twas a PWAS Christmas Party

Twas a PWAS Christmas Party

Friday, December 20, 2024. The Prince William Art Society members held their annual Christmas party at the Tall Oaks Community Center with great music, delicious food, some fun announcements, a wild game of Pictionary, and many laughs.

Twas a Few Nights Before Christmas

' Twas a few nights before Christmas, when all through Tall Oaks...

The Prince William Art Society members were stirring! Our members, so talented, their voices and fingers were whirling...

The decorations were hung by the Board with such care, In hopes that PWAS would soon be there. (Thank you Board members! The decor was beautiful!)

The dishes were nestled all snug in their place, while visions of sugar-plums awaited their fates.
Was anyone wearing a 'kerchief or a cap?
They had just settled down for a long winter's chat...
When out on the floor there arose such a clatter, we enjoyed the Christmas cheer that settled the matter. (Thank you guys! Loved the clatter!)
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a tiny Christmas tree with gift cards for members recognized this year!
Her eyes - how they twinkled! her dimples how merry! We all had such fun, playing the game Pictionary!
Now, Dew! now, Dillon! now, Patty and Evelyn! On Murphy! on, Betty! on, Donna and Staci! Now draw away! draw away! draw away all!
He was dressed all in colors, from his head to his foot...
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work...
I heard them exclaim, ere they drove out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

And on to the New Year!

Post 421: PWAS Christmas Party Dec 11, 2023

PWAS Christmas Party Dec 11, 2023

Every year, in the month of December, the Prince William Art Society (PWAS) foregoes their typical fourth Monday of the month meeting format (and date) and pencils in their annual PWAS plus one Christmas party. Everyone brings a dish or other refreshment/nibbles, their glitter and glow and enjoys the camaraderie of getting together with friends.

Special Thanks

A lot of people helped to organize, decorate and setup/takedown of our party and a very special thanks must go to Evelyn Chatters. You go girl!! And to everyone that pitches in with all the to-dos, thank you! We LOVED the color scheme of silver, black and white - great idea!

Our in-house designated official photo taker is Otis Stanley. A BIG thanks to Otis for recording the 2023 PWAS Christmas Party.

On with the show...

"Just because most of you ARE artists, doesn't mean you can put your Pictionary designs for sale. And NO, you don't need to sign it."
One of the most important party duties known to man, opening of the beverages...
Another very important part of party particulars is the patient participation of the pause in awaiting the opening of the beverages.

That jacket that Tom was wearing deserved another look!

A fun time was had by all. It was wonderful to see everyone and if you couldn't be there - we missed you!

Now please help me out here...with a group of over 100 members (and a plus one), I do NOT know everyone. Let alone know the names of the plus people. If you can pinpoint the name(s) to the exact pictures, please let me know and I would be happy to update. And by all means, if I got a name wrong...let me know!
