PWAS Art Shows & Member Art Events

The Individual PWAS Member Art Events will be posted on or about, the first and the fifteenth of the month. Any of the PWAS (group) Events upcoming - these PWAS Art Shows, Meetings, etc will be posted, reminders posted, and recaps of the PWAS group events will be posted more often, or as needed.

PWAS Events

The upcoming Prince William Art Society events and goings on...

1. Stonebridge - Open Space Arts (OSA)

There is now a "Call for Art" open to all Prince William County Artists - so if you are a member of PWAS, PWCAC, MAG, or another PWC art group - you should have been sent an email for the Call. The final day to enter is March 19 so contact sm22026@comcast.net for the form. The Show is scheduled to start on April 2.

Stay tuned for this one - definitely all the artwork for OSA will be juried - so your best works will need to be ready for this!

2. PWAS Meeting - February 28, 2022 at 7:30 pm at the Tall Oaks Community Center

12298 Cotton Mill Drive. Woodbridge, VA 22192

3. ArtFactory in Manassas, Virginia - May 4 to June 4, 2022. It's actually never too early to start preparing for an art event (especially depending on what medium you use), so keep this art show in mind. 

4. Tall Oaks Spring Art Show May 2022. Actual dates and more info to come. 

5. Clearbrook Center of the Arts is open every weekend from 1 to 4 so stop in to see the art at 12298 Cotton Mill Dr, Lake Ridge, VA 22192. The new 'south of the border" restaurant Hector's of Lake Ridge is nearby!

PWAS Congratulations and Recognition November 2021

Best of the Region 4 is still currently on display at Creative Brush Studio in Manassas. The show is juried and the winners were announced at the reception on October 17, 2021 except for the Artist's Choice and the People's Choice awards.

Creative Brush Studio- Center Street, Manassas, VA

The Fine Art Studios and Gallery of Mary Reilly and Christine Reilly Raymond is a wonderful creative space to visit. Visitors can browse the art which is available for purchase, and also experience and observe the artists while they are painting.   

 

The current art shows are the "Best of the Region 4 Fine Art Show and Sale" from October 17 to November 18, 2021and the upcoming "Small Works Show and Sale" from November 27 to December 24, 2021.

Friday, November 5, 2021 was the Fall Gallery Walk in Manassas, Virginia with various artists and the Manassas Art Guild displaying art in various shops around Center Street. At Creative Brush Studio, many artists were displaying and working on art in progress and it was the last day to vote for the Best of the Region 4 People's Choice and Artist's Choice awards to be announced on Saturday, November 5.

And announced LIVE it was on Saturday, via a live link by Christine! Drum roll please...

 

Our own Andrea Castanada of the Prince William Art Society (PWAS) and the Manassas Art Guild (MAG) was voted as the Artist's Choice award! Her painting of "Snow White" which is oil on Plexiglass and Abalone Leaf was chosen be all of the artists entered in the Best of the Region - so an award by your peers is looking very good on the resume! Congratulations, Andrea!

The People's Choice award went to Monica Curran for a marvelous piece called "Morning Light" on the left in the image below:

Best of the Region 4 Reception at Creative Brush Studio, Manassas, VA

PWAS is represented at Best of the Region 4! You are invited to come see the display and meet all of the artists for this juried fine art show and sale.

A Reception and a Show

The reception will take place on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2 to 6 pm. The winner will be announced around 3 pm. 

Five PWAS members have selected artwork on display at this event. Come by and support the team!

 

The artwork will be on display until November 18th.

PWAS Member Awards, Recognition and Woohoos!

Periodically, we at the Prince William Art Society would like to recognize our artist members that have recently been awarded or recognized at various art events, galleries, contests, etc that they have been selected for. A juror selected Kelly's piece, "Our Children Today", to be in the October 2021 Open Exhibit in the Art League Gallery at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town, Alexandria, VA.

The exhibit will run from October 3, - November 7, 2021.

Stephanie McGee

Stephanie is a brand new PWAS member. Two of her really cool quilling artworks are entered in the "Best of the Region 4" at Creative Brush Studio, in Manassas. "Peacock Fan" and "Flamingo" are her two pieces.
