Post 55: PWAS Art Changeover November 8 & 9, 2021

The Next PWAS Art Changeover at Clearbrook is Nov 8 & 9, 2021

The holidays and colder weather are stampeding ever closer. That and the next PWAS Member art changeover dates.

Bi-Monthly Art Changeover

Whether new to PWAS or a long-time member, the art at Clearbrook Center of the Arts at Tackett's Mill is where the PWAS active members have the ability to hang their art. The Clearbrook Committee changes the Theme Wall and removes as well as rotates the art inventory while bringing in the new, every two months. They have a set way to do things and every member needs to be aware of how it all works.

From Bilee - the Changeover: Any new art that you want displayed needs to be dropped off by 10am Tuesday the 9th of November. Barb and Jewell are available at Clearbrook on Monday the 8th from 11-3 if you prefer to come then. We are switching the Theme Wall to Holidays/Winter. (Can you sing, "Oh the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful..."?)

Art can be dropped off any time this weekend (November 30 and 31) and there is a stainless steel shelf in the storage room for you to place art waiting to be hung. Please make sure each piece has two cards (one must be a PWAS card), noting your name, the title of the piece, the medium and the price.  It helps if the title of the piece is written the same as on your inventory sheet. <- by the way, remember to update that too, very important!

Let the Clearbrook Committee know if you have any questions or concerns about changeover.

Also, if you have ornaments for sale, we may have a small tree on the counter in the back space.

Pickup the Art Take-Down

After the new artwork is hung, please pick up any artwork that was taken down which will then be on the stainless steel shelving in the storage room.

Post 40: Do You Prepare Artwork for a Particular Art Theme?

Do You Prepare Artwork for the Clearbrook Themes?

I do, do you? The Prince William Art Society changes their Theme Wall (and all artwork) bi-monthly at Clearbrook Center of the Arts and the next "Changeover" is coming up in early November.

A New Theme is Coming

Maybe its me, but I like knowing far in advance what the upcoming PWAS Themes are so that I make sure I have something to fit that theme. That must be why I created the Blog Page: Themes. Although I was never a scout, that motto always stuck to my head like a sticky note: Be Prepared.

As far back as June, I was painting for the "Fall/Harvest" Theme (September and October) and the "Winter/Holiday" Theme (November/December). The January Theme "Orange" is weighing on my mind like a large pumpkin helmet.

My question for you is - do you paint something FOR that Theme Wall, or just use what you already have in your inventory?

See, I'm ready for winter...

Clearbrook Center of the Arts

PWAS (AKA the Prince William Art Society) has gratefully been granted the use of Clearbrook Center of the Arts here in Lake Ridge, Virginia - a part of Woodbridge. It is located at Tackett's Mill Shopping Center, on the far back side where the Mill and water fountain are, in case you are not familiar. The PWAS Members hang our artwork there and the gallery is open on the weekends.

We volunteer our time "manning the store" and welcome our visitors, pointing to our Theme Wall which is located to your immediate right when you come in the door. Members are encouraged to submit themed artwork each changeover - typically smaller works are displayed on that wall so that there is room for everyone.

Certainly not all artwork hung has to be for the Theme Wall each change period. Where's the fun in that if everything was pumpkin flavored?

By the way, I'm painting an Orange Koi fish for the January/February art theme...

Post 12: Clearbrook Art Changeover with New Sept/Oct Theme

PWAS Bi-Monthly Art Changeover

The September and October Art Changeover occurred this week - so while I was picking up my artwork from Clearbrook that came down, I quickly took some snapshots of the art on the walls that went up. The Theme Wall is Fall/Autumn,/Halloween, so a short video kicks this off.

The Clearbrook Team

PWAS members: Shadow, Barbara and Bilee are all a part of the Clearbrook Team that bi-monthly changes out the artwork for the PWAS members. What a fantastic job they do every month! They group and organize each area and hang the art.

The photographs never do the art justice. Meaning of course, that seeing all the art in person is the best way to appreciate each piece.

Clearbrook Center of the Arts is open every Saturday and Sunday, from 1 to 4pm - so take a few moments out of your day to go enjoy the display - its free to see. And, if you are an artist or know someone that is, tell them about PWAS - we welcome new members! See https://artistryspin.blogspot.com/p/membership.html for more info.

As you can see, quite a variety of art styles and subject matter from the PWAS Members!

Post 6: Sept/Oct PWAS Clearbrook Art Gallery Changeover

September and October PWAS Art Changeover at Clearbrook

Bi-Monthly, the Theme Wall at Clearbrook Center of the Arts at Tackett's Mill changes. But the changeover doesn't stop there, the artwork of the members changes too

Harvest the Pumpkins and Changing of the Season Artwork

The new theme is Autumn, Fall, Halloween, Harvest Art! Get out those gourds, pumpkins and apple paintings, the fall season leaves artwork, the witches, ghosts and goblins and the bringing in the sheaves.

To: PWAS Members

The Clearbrook Team of the Prince William Art Society (PWAS) changes the artwork in the gallery every other month for their artist members, giving the gallery at Clearbrook, a new look and new feel for all our visitors to see - beginning on Saturday, September 11 from 1 to 4pm. (Clearbook is open on weekends).)

Starting today, Saturday, September 4 up to -no later than- 10am September 8th, 2021, bring in the art you wish to display at the gallery.

Not all work has to be the aforementioned theme. The Theme Wall is immediately to the right when you come into Clearbrook, and that is where the theme paintings go.

Members have the option to display one to approximately 10 pieces, depending on size, space and availability. If the Clearbrook team needs to fill in more areas, they put out a call for more.

New artwork should be put in the storage area artwork rack in our PWAS storage room and your artwork being changed out will be there as well for pickup. The Clearbrook Team will be in the gallery Tuesday, September 7 to help members with inventory in and out.
