Here's a local youth Call for Art Competition someone you might know could be interested in.

Youth Art Competition for 9th to 12th Grades

The Town of Occoquan announces their first local Youth Art Competition for the Fall Arts & Crafts Show, September 24 & 25, 2022. Local youth artists, 9th-12th grade from around the area are encouraged to submit their best works.

Submission includes 3 photos of recent art (produced within the last 2 years) and a completed online application. All forms of visual art are acceptable including painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, digital, fiber art, and collage, (but not sound and video art). Work must not exceed 18” x 24.” Digital submissions must be 300dpi or as close to it as possible. A limited number of each category will be accepted. Subject matter must be family-friendly. 

The jury will select award winners in the following categories: painting, drawing, digital (including photography), and sculpture. All selected artists will receive an award of a $50 gift card to use in Occoquan.

All accepted entries will be displayed at the Fall Arts & Crafts Show on September 24 & 25, with a drop off window of September 19-22. Display only, not for sale. Artists will be asked to staff the booth space during the show for a two-hour period over the course of the weekend. All work picked up by September 30.
